*IDITAROD UPDATE*
*10 WORD CONCERT REVIEW*

I'm back with a vengence. I'm on a tear, so watch your dairy-air,
and don't be caught unaware, or else you might just
end up on the floor, knocked down by my vicious right to your front door..

Okay. That didn't make a lot of sense......... "to your front door?"..... what am I smoking??!!
Anyway, moving on.. I've got some bad news in our Iditarod section of today's blog..

*NEWSFLASH: IDITAROD UPDATE*

Harold Tunheim.... or Tunny as I like to call him.... has nose-dived into 23 place. Apparently he passed the "Cripple Check-Point" at 7:40am today. This is quite a shame. Apparently he is being hampered by a leg injury, although I'm not quite sure of the details yet.
But guess what, people? If Tunny looked behind him, chances are he could see none other than BRUCE LEE right on his heels. That's right, Bruce Lee has ninja-kicked his way up to 24th place. For those of you who actually care about who's WINNING the race, well, 3-time champion Martin Buser has a pretty nice lead right now.

See isn't this a great sport? Aren't you glad you're learning more about it? Doesn't it make you want to put on a nice big
furry eskimo coat (synthetic fur, of course), find 16 stray dogs, attach them to a sled and do a few laps around gallup park in a sled? Who cares if there's no snow! Snow-SCHMOW! As long as you grease up the skiis of your dog sled with a lot of butter and PAM cooking spray, you'll be good to go for a good couple of days. Happy racing, people, I'll see you out there!!

In other news, last night I went to a concert at the Ark last night that featured two Irish bands, Whirligig and Lunasa, which leads me to a....

*10-WORD CONCERT REVIEW*

Lunasa and Whirligig, two Irish Bands, very fun, I'm happy

There you have it. The ten word concert review. I'm getting pretty lazy, huh? All in all it was a great night. I ended up with a lunasa cd, which basically tells you which band I appreciated the most. Go Lunasa!!

Okay. So I can't help but you guys aren't reading my page anymore. Seriously though, I need to shake your hand if you even made it to the end of this post. I mean - The Iditarod and Irish Bands??? Oh well. I promise you that i'll try to make things a little more exciting. But I really haven't been given an ocean of topic ideas from you guys yet, so please keep them coming. I want to talk about what you want to hear - regardless of whether I know anything about it or not. :) *Grin* hehe

Okay. That's the end of another thrilling blog. Once all of you college folkies get back from spring break, I'll try to be a little more interesting :)

Until we meet again...
Your humble friend,
Josh

*SPECIAL IDITAROD COMMENTARY*

Hey Yo!

It's pretty dead on campus right now. I've actually been blessed in that there are three other guys in Titus (Dorm) whose parents don't want them coming home for spring break (just kidding), so this dorm is pretty alive and kickin', relatively speaking.

I just wanted to write quickly about something near and dear to my heart. In case you're from a different galaxy, you should ALL know that, the world's greatest Sled Dog Competition, the Iditarod, is into its second day of racing. Yes, that's right folks, the Iditarod is going on right now, and Linwood Fieldler is in the lead. If you carefully check this year's list of competitors, you'll see that Bruce Lee is in the Iditarod, as well. BRUCE LEE. My sources are telling me that he came back from the dead for the specific reason of entering the Iditarod, although it's close to being confirmed that he will be shooting a brand new movie with Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. Okay, that was bad.. i know.. but it's still pretty cool that Bruce Lee is in the Iditarod.

The thing is, I'm cheering for the man who is currently in third place, Harald Tunheim of Norway. He has won a total of $13,000 in prize money the past two years of racing, but I have this itch in my armpit that says he's going to make a lot more this year. I mean, look at his picture, he REALLY gets into this whole winter-snow-sledding thing. Just look at his beard! Now THAT'S dedication. GO TUNHEIM!

For you uneducated simpletons who don't know anything about this great great feat of human accomplishment (okay, I really didn't know anything about this until I checked out the webpage today), the Iditarod is a 1151 mile trail that was first used when the Alaskan goldrush began in the 1880's. A maximum of 16 dogs can be attached to the sled at one time.

Sure, its not as big as the Super Bowl, and the commercials aren't as exciting (come to think of it, sure, the Iditarod isn't even really shown on T.V.), but ladies and gentleman, I wouldn't be too far off if I said that this is the greatest event in the history of sports, hands down. Don't miss it.

I'll keep you updated. Go Tunheim!

Later,

Josh
